As I needed to get me some white wines, I chose to round out my purchases of the day with this Pinot Grigio from Meridian.  Years ago -- 1995 -- I was introduced to Meridian Chardonnay by a woman I was getting to know.  I liked their Chardonnay then, but haven't liked it in subsequent years.  Just for the hello of it I decided to try their Pinot Grigio.  It is surprisingly light, with a little hint of Meyer's lemons and a floral spell.  I originally rated this a 6, but it grew on me during the first glass.  The finish does last for about ten seconds and while not too acidic, this wine is gentle enough for most neophyte drinkers, especially those who are used to nothing but sweet wines.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
